Invite Your Contacts

You can search for individuals and ask them to connect with you on LinkedIn. You can also send an email to your contacts from various platforms and invite them to connect with you on LinkedIn. Generally speaking people cast a wide net on LinkedIn, so don’t be afraid to invite acquaintances or friends of friends. To do this:

  1. Go to your LinkedIn account
  2. Search for your colleagues or friends directly in the search menu on the top
  3. To invite a larger group, head to the upper right hand menu and look for the icon with a + sign. This will allow you to reach out to your contacts via a bulk email approach

Interact with Your Connections

Make sure you are engaging with your contacts. You need to be accepting invitations on a regular basis to keep up your momentum.

GROUPS

One of the great tools of LinkedIn is their groups. You can join groups that interest you and share insights. It is important to pick a few groups and post and respond to group postings. This gives your LinkedIn profile credibility and depth.

Finding LinkedIn Groups

  1. Go to you LinkedIn account
  2. Go to Interests on the top menu bar
  3. Go to Groups on the pull down bar
  4. LinkedIn will automatically suggest groups for you based on your interests and connections. You can also search them.
